The world is still recovering after Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Keith Urban after 19 years of marriage on Tuesday, September 30th.

And now, fans are turning their shock to anger, after seeing a resurfaced clip of the 57-year-old country singer changing the lyrics to a song he originally wrote for the 58-year-old Oscar-winning actress, directing them instead at his 25-year-old female guitarist, Maggie Baugh.

Keith Urban Changes Lyrics To Song He Wrote About Nicole Kidman In Resurfaced Clip

The resurfaced clip was reportedly from the “Messed Up As Me” singer’s April 1st, 2025 show at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, and shows him performing his 2016 hit “The Fighter,” which was inspired by the early days of his romance with the Nine Perfect Strangers actress. But fans were left stunned when, mid-performance, he appeared to flirt with the country musician, singing directly to her.

Instead of the original line, “When they’re tryna get to you, baby I’ll be the fighter,” Urban seemingly sang, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie I’ll be your guitar player.”

Baugh uploaded the video to her own Instagram account on Saturday, September 26th, just a few days before news of Keith and Nicole’s separation broke. She captioned it, “Did he just say that?” with the eyes emoji, which has made people think that the timing of the upload wasn’t a coincidence, and she knew what was coming!

Fans Call The Performance 'Trashy' And 'Disrespectful'

"It is so trashy to do this to a song inspired by his wife. It's the ultimate ick," slammed one fan, or should we say former fan, on Instagram. "I am no longer a Keith Urban fan. He should be ashamed of himself. Poor daughters," concurred a second.

"What a guy, he took a song he wrote for his wife and put a different woman's name in it, now there's class," criticized a third, followed by four sideways crying laughing emojis. "Show some class Keith for goodness sake!" exclaimed a fourth, as a fifth added: "Wow! This is gross. Nicole is the mother of your children."

"This is THE MOST disrespectful, distasteful thing I have ever heard. Keith has lost another fan in me after this. Shame on you," commented a sixth, as a seventh thought: "Wow, he must be going through a midlife crisis. Yuck!" "Used to think he was Prince Charming now he makes my skin crawl," wrote an eighth, as a ninth deemed his behavior "very tacky."

"Nicole is better off without this person. She is the fighter he is a player," a tenth chimed in, as an eleventh added: "Once a cheat always a cheat… Not a good look!" They went on to say that Nicole "deserves so much better!"
