Kendall Jenner just spoke out about her struggles with acne while growing up in the public eye and honestly, we’ve never related to the model more. The 25-year-old reality star described her skincare journey in a new video for Vogue, addressing how hard her acne was to deal with emotionally, and the steps she’s since taken to clear it up.

Jenner, who was once the face of Proactiv, has been passionate about skincare from a young age due to her constant battle with acne prone skin. She explained, “It’s just something that was an obvious thing I felt I needed to get into, and seeing my own skin journey has taught me so much.”
Although she’s since nailed her routine down to a T, the model said that she struggled even after finding the right products, which caused her to turn to her diet for further adjustments. “Once I got my regime down I knew it wasn’t what I was putting on my face.” She explained how she cut out dairy partially, in hopes of her skin reacting positively, “I love cheese so it’s hard for me to cut out cheese,” she said--we get it!
Jenner also attributes her clear skin to drinking plenty of water in tandem with less dairy and a solid skincare routine. Going off of her skincare struggles, the model explained how difficult it was to spend her entire childhood in the public eye. “It’s a blessing and a curse to grow up in the spotlight because it has not always been cute and I have not always known what to do or what the right makeup is.”
The model is thankful now that her skin has cleared, but she does admit, “I’m obviously human, I have my breakouts here and there. It’s been so much better than it was before, but it was brutal for a moment.” Bad skin days happen to even the best of us, so we’re sure it must have been hard to battle with that while under scrutiny from the entire world.
Jenner may have struggled with her skin in the past, but with her refined routine, the beauty now has gorgeous glowing skin which she loves to emphasize with the dewy makeup look she showed in the Vogue vid.
