Kim Kardashian is no stranger to Photoshop – or Photoshop fails, for that matter – but fans were more confused than ever when the mom-of-four posted two versions of the same picture to two different social media accounts, with one very obvious but strange difference between them! And we thought Kim superimposing niece True Thompson into daughter Chicago’s Instagram pictures was bad…
Fans were beside themselves with excitement when the 41-year-old SKIMS founder *finally* shared a picture of herself with her boyfriend, 28-year-old SNL comedian Pete Davidson, on March 11th, which we think was a great way to mark her official newly single status. (We know she also shared one on Pete’s birthday back in November, where they were posing in matching pajamas with Kris Jenner and US rapper Flavor Flav, but this was the first time the pair were pictured on their own and actually looking like a real-life couple. It’s the picture the internet has waited almost half a year for!)
However, the picture of Kim staring lovingly at Pete who is lying on the floor was overshadowed by the carpet (yes, really!) as in one picture which was shared to Instagram, the boyfriend and girlfriend were lying on a plain gray carpet, and in the other, which was shared to Twitter, the carpet had an intricate geometric pattern. And fans are desperate to know why! "I genuinely do not know why Kim edited the carpet. Does anyone else know or care to take a guess?" one fan wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture of both versions of the same picture. "Addiction to editing has her editing the floors now," another fan wrote, followed by two crying laughing emojis.
"That is just plain scary lol. WHYYYY," questioned another fan. Interestingly, another fan was keen to answer the former fan's question, and speculated that perhaps Kim wanted to edit the picture so as not to give away what hotel they were staying at. "So someone couldn’t guess what hotel she’s in," the fan suggested. So for once, perhaps it wasn’t a vanity issue, but a privacy and security issue! "Maybe she frequents the hotel? she was robbed in Paris, probably plays it mad safe since," one fan added, to which another also replied: "You don't think being attacked and held hostage might make you be a little cautious literally forever? I think it's very obviously for security reasons, regardless of whether they were there at that time or not."
