Kylie Jenner first became a household name when she was only 10 years old, so it’s normal to expect some changes in her appearance over the years that she’s stayed in the spotlight. However, now at 23, Kylie is practically unrecognizable compared to her former self, and it mostly likely has more to do with plastic surgery than puberty.

With over 200 million followers, Kylie knows how to make her Instagram work for her--and part of that has been perfecting her poses, filters, and editing.
This before and after edit from @CelebBeforeAfter makes that very clear. Although both photos are bikini pics, Kylie looks drastically different--and it's not just her face that has changed.
Although changes in appearances are completely normal as we grow up and go through puberty, many think that it wasn't just nature at work when it comes to Kylie's transformation.
It's not just fan speculation either.
Experts have also questioned whether or not Kylie has gone under the knife to achieve her now-famous figure.
In 2019, Dr. Andrea Giannitrapani told Elle that he believes she underwent procedures to achieve her new look. He explained, "I would speculate that in recent months, Kylie has undergone fat transfer to her hips and buttocks to further enhance her hourglass curves."
He also believes that Kylie underwent a breast augmentation.
He told Elle, "There is a clear size increase to Kylie's breasts. Although they are not out of proportion with her frame, they have the characteristics of a breast enlargement in the early stages of healing and look as though they still need time to settle."
Kylie, however, has not admitted any plastic surgery (besides fillers in her face). In 2015, she denied the rumors when speaking to Grazia magazine.
She explained, "I haven’t had plastic surgery. I’ve never been under the knife. People flashback to pictures of me when I was 12 and say 'Kylie’s so different,' but how can I look the same from 12 to 18?'"
Although that was five years ago, Kylie has not changed her story since. It definitely seems possible that some--maybe even most--of her physical changes are related to simply growing up. However, it's hard to believe that puberty was the only thing at work, especially when seeing these before and after photos.
Kylie definitely has the right to keep any plastic surgery she has (or has not) done under wraps, but that won't stop the speculation or the critics, especially those who want the star to own up to the surgeriesto stop setting an unrealistic beauty standard.
