Lady Gaga is back in action and currently performing in massive arena venues for her loyal fans across the country for her highly anticipated Mayhem Ball tour. Her performances are typically full of extensive costumes and dramatic makeup, but at the end of her recent shows, she decided to tone it all down for a powerful finale.

Fans have been losing it over the pop star’s choices for her finale number of the Mayhem Ball tour, “How Bad Do U Want Me,” where she allows them to watch her go backstage to take off all her makeup and change into a T-shirt and beanie before performing the rest of the hit song. Her audience has not only been shocked by the bold move but has also shown appreciation for her vulnerability and ability to surprise them after almost two decades of a zany, quirky career. Read more about her impressive performance below.

Lady Gaga Goes Makeup-Free For Her Mayhem Ball Finale Number

Earlier this month, the influential singer-songwriter opened her Mayhem Ball tour, which came a few months after she released her seventh studio album, Mayhem, in early March. The tour explores different eras and chapters of her career, while still packing in hits and catchy songs from the latest album.

Throughout the show, Gaga can be seen sporting dramatic makeup looks and several costumes to coordinate with the different 'chapters' of the two and a half hour performance. This isn't unusual, as she's well known for her fashion and avant-garde-coded styling. However, at the end of the long, theatrical event, when she sings "How Bad Do U Want Me," a hit from Mayhem, the singer decided to change things up.

Since her opening night in Vegas, according to concert footage uploaded online, the 39-year-old begins her finale number by allowing a camera to follow her backstage, where her fans can see her change into a casual outfit vs a grand costume, and watch her take her dark makeup off as she sings. The act is very fitting for the song, where the vocalist gets personal about differentiating her celebrity persona and who she truly is, asking her romantic interest, "How bad do you want me?"

Fans React To Gaga's Makeup-Free Moment On Social Media

Ever since the opening of the tour, when the Star Is Born actress first performed her unique, makeup-free finale, fans and audience members began posting footage of it on social media, and it quickly went viral. Social media members loved seeing the glamorous star strip down to her true self and deliver a memorable performance. On platforms like TikTok, fans left several comments about what seeing that was like.

"I can't believe she did this," wrote one TikTok user under a video of Gaga singing her finale number. "Genius."

"This is the best way to end the show," wrote another. "It's fresh, careless, more organic and fun."

Other fans poked fun at the singer, making silly comments about her outfit, writing that it looked like she was on stage as "cosplay Billie Eilish," and that it was "convenient to take the makeup off while still at the venue."

"She's gonna go home ready for bed," continued the user.

Loyal fans of the artist showed a lot of appreciation for the makeup-free moment, writing that it looked like she was "living her best life" and seemed "so happy" on stage. No matter how internet users feel about the bare moment, it's more proof that after years of being in the public eye and becoming a standout artist, Gaga still knows how to surprise her audience.
