Target Announces They're Pulling Cereals With Synthetic Dyes From Their Shelves
One of today's most popular places to shop for food and other essentials is Target, which has a huge fanbase and loyal customer following. Now, the retailer is ready to make a small change that could trigger a bigger difference.
At the end of last month, spokespeople for the mega-brand revealed they had decided to no longer sell breakfast cereals with artificial dyes in them. For both their in-person and online stores, Target is working with the brands they sell, as not only will their Good & Gather cereal products with synthetic dyes be pulled, but also other brands they sell.
"We know consumers are increasingly prioritizing healthier lifestyles, and we're moving quickly to evolve our offerings to meet their needs," Target's chief merchandising officer, Cara Sylvester, wrote in a statement.
Trump Supporters Respond To Target's Decision
The famous store's choice to get stricter with the cereals they sell is going hand in hand with new pressures put out from the Trump administration, especially his Secretary of Health, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In addition to pushing protein and certain animal products, the Department of Health has been encouraging a crackdown on artificial coloring and dyes in food.
Therefore, once supporters of the MAHA movement heard the news about Target, they posted celebratory messages on social media platforms like X, formerly Twitter.
