On September 20th, shortly after his own trip to the U.K. – where he had a highly-anticipated meeting with his father, King Charles – Prince Harry attended the annual One805LIVE! Rock for First Responders benefit concert held at Kevin Costner‘s oceanside estate in Santa Barbara.
During the benefit, Prince Harry took to the stage to present an award to Santa Barbara County Fire Chief Mark Hartwig. He was briefly joined on stage by Meghan Markle, before she retreated to the sidelines to watch her husband present the award. Some people thought it was sweet how she was there to support her husband, while others accused her of trying to steal the spotlight from him!

Meghan Markle Wears A Carolina Herrera Halter Dress At One805LIVE! Benefit Concert
Regardless of her intentions, the former Suits actress, 44, looked incredibly chic in a navy blue Carolina Herrera dress for the benefit concert. The dress came with a low back (very against royal protocol!) and a halter neckline, as well as a feminine voluminous pleated midi skirt.
She accessorized with some brown Ralph Lauren pumps and a structured Hunting Season raffia bag. For jewelry, she wore her signature stacked bracelets, including her Cartier Love bangle, while her dark brunette locks were worn in a side-swept wavy down do.
She and Prince Harry enjoyed music from Good Charlotte, Trisha Yearwood, and The Fray at the concert, and reportedly mingled with other A-list attendees such as Oprah Winfrey, Maria Shriver, Rob Lowe, and more.

Meghan Markle Slammed As 'Clingy' And Attention-Seeking On Social Media
Many fans took to social media to question Meghan's presence at the event. "Can't it just be about Harry for once?" asked one person on a Just Jared Instagram post, to which a second replied: "Never. She has to seek attention." "Why so clingy?" asked a third, in reference to the mom-of-two, as a fourth echoed: "Can't she NOT hang on him? Why is she even there? Ugh."
"Why is she on stage? Can't she let him [do it] alone?" questioned a fifth, in agreement, as a sixth slammed: "Why does she have to act over-supportive at every event? He's not going to the front lines of a war… Meghan keeps hanging onto him like she cut the umbilical cord yesterday."
"She slowly made her way to the stage cause no one invited her there. Just H. But he can't have attention without her. Not on her watch. So here she comes," quipped a seventh, followed by the sideways crying laughing emoji.

Others Defend Meghan Markle And Praise Her 'Gorgeous' Look
Not everyone was critical, though. Plenty of fans defended Meghan's presence and gushed over her style and beauty. "That's his wife! They're a team," wrote one supportive fan, followed by a pink heart emoji. "Harry is married… He supports his wife and his wife supports him," a second cleared up, as a third fan chimed in: "They were invited TOGETHER. Get a life."
"Amazing couple supporting local causes. Duchess Meghan looks gorgeous," gushed a fourth, followed by the fire emoji. "She's gorgeous as always!" exclaimed a fifth, in agreement, as a sixth praised: "Wow, can Meghan be more beautiful?" "Stunning," raved a seventh, followed by the heart eyes emoji.
