After the release of the With Love, Meghan holiday special last month, the internet may have thought that it would get a break from Meghan Markle‘s projects for a little while. But how wrong it was!

Just a few days into the new year, it was reported that the Duchess of Sussex, 44, may have a cookbook in the pipeline, inspired by recipes from her aforementioned Netflix series. And social media is unsurprisingly not very hopeful about its success…

What Do We Know About Meghan Markle's Rumored New Cookbook?

According to reports, the book is due to be released sometime in the spring, and will coincide with an expansion of her As Ever lifestyle brand into a wider range of non-food products.

As for what fans can expect inside the book, it's reported that it will feature recipes such as her "single skillet spaghetti" and "rainbow-themed fruit salad," to name just two. And recipes are only the beginning, as the book will also reportedly include "tips and tricks" about hosting at home, which was a prominent theme of her With Love, Meghan show.

"Meghan is looking at a cookbook for early 2026, and there will be more lifestyle products coming in the spring. 2026 is looking like another big year for her," an insider told RadarOnline. They went on to say: "There will be more wine and definitely more homeware too. But she will ease off selling her biscuit and crepe kits."

Negative Social Media Reactions

As soon as the news dropped, social media understandably erupted, as many people referenced how basic and uninspired some of the recipes on With Love, Meghan were, as well how unappetizing they appeared on screen. And yes, the controversial flower sprinkles were brought up more than a few tines!

Others commented about their hygiene concerns, recalling the backlash Meghan previously faced for handling raw meat while wearing jewelry and leaving her hair untied while cooking.

One critic previously called her a "menace," as a second called her "Salmonella Sussex," which is a name that has stuck. A third said at the time: "She has the worst kitchen hygiene. Jewelry rubbing up against the meat, hair shedding, and her grubby hands."

The Internet Predicts The Book Will Be 'An Embarrassing Flop'

"Spoiler: it will be an embarrassing flop, as ever," predicted one X user, in reference to the cookbook. "She does not even LIKE cooking," thought a second, as a third asked: "I wonder if 'tossed salad' will be one of her signature recipes?"

"I am shocked anyone would go along with this scheme. Meghan is out of her depth writing a cookbook," declared a fourth, as a fifth joked: "Let's face it, she's going to use recipes from Pepper The App but just add those nasty flower sprinkles to it."

Social Media Questions The Book’s Originality And Whether Meghan Actually Wrote It Herself

Many others thought it would lack originality, as she has been accused of copying other A-listers in the past, with a sixth saying: "Well originality and authenticity is not her thing." "Wonder who will write it for her," commented a seventh as an eighth echoed: "Full list of someone else's ideas."

A ninth said: "Given the track record, it will not be written by her. It will be ghosted, styled, and polished by a team, then marketed as 'authentic.' The irony is that the less involved she is, the more accurate the book will be."

"Has she posted a single photo of herself testing and perfecting her recipes? Silly me. Meghan doesn't need to test recipes; Ina, Martha, Giada, Ree, Bobby et al. already tested them for her. Except the salmonella and flower sprinkles, of course," quipped a tenth, as an eleventh chimed in: "She successfully demonstrated how to take pretzels from the store bag and put them in small baggies. Does that count?" "Can't wait to see it for sale at the Dollar Tree. May make a great gag gift for $1.50!" exclaimed a twelfth..

Meghan Markle's Food Hygiene Slammed

Many others commented on the hygiene, as a thirteenth said: "Food safety not her forte." "That hair of hers was enough for me. Finding a hair, even my own is enough to ruin my appetite," said a fourteenth.

Another X user slammed: "Mrs. Salmonella Sussex aka Meghan Markle, America's Worst Cook wants to publish a cookbook!? Mr. Harry Markle needs to buy her some cookbooks and force her [expletive] to enroll at the Institute of Culinary Education." "Does Salmonella Sussex's book include health and safety tips?" someone else asked.
