Meghan Markle is digging her heels into her new lifestyle brand, As Ever, the aesthetic of which perfectly matches her new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. The woman has a brand and is sticking to it, but fans are calling her out for faking authenticity after she posted a photo of her “garden haul” on Instagram. Viewers were quick to point out that most of the produce she claimed to have grown in her garden is out of season. Keep reading for more information.

Meghan Markle Posts Garden Haul

Artfully arranged in a shabby chic woven basket, Meghan’s supposed garden haul includes leeks, corn, broccoli, squash, red bell peppers, lettuce, and carrots. The Duchess snapped a photo of her dog, Mia, checking out the produce and posted it on Instagram with the caption, “The unofficial quality inspector of this morning’s garden haul,” implying that she picked those vegetables from her Southern California garden.

For most fans, the photo was a bit too curated, and they were quick to point out that the vegetables had not a speck of dirt on them and haul features produce that isn’t in season. Though Meghan has the comments turned off on @AsEverOfficial’s Instagram account, fans found other ways to let their skepticism be heard.

Social Media Reactions

Taking to social media platforms like Reddit and TikTok, users were quick to call out Meghan for her likely inauthentic post. "It's way too early in the season for most of those vegetables to be grown in her garden and ready to pick," one person wrote.

"The only place I see all that in season is the grocery store produce section," another posted. "Someone made a Whole Foods run."

"All things from all seasons all in perfect representation too," said a third. "Not a single misshapen vegetable or torn leaf. What a fraud."

"Does anyone else notice none of those vegetables have even a hint of dirt on them?" asked another.

"Her problem is she's picked an audience that she isn't apart of," a final user said. "People who actually garden will know that she bought those vegetables at a grocery store and those are the same people she's posting for."
