Meghan Markle Plans To Visit The UK In The Summer To Coincide With Invictus Games 'One Year To Go' Event
According to reports, the As Ever founder plans to visit the U.K. this summer, marking her first trip back in four years. Her last visit was in September 2022, following the passing of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The visit would likely take place in July to coincide with Prince Harry's 'One Year To Go' celebrations for the Invictus Games. The international adaptive multi-sport event for wounded and sick military personnel and veterans will be held in Birmingham, England, in 2027. It's the first time it will be held in the U.K. since the inaugural Invictus Games in London back in 2014.
The mom-of-two has supported her husband at previous 'One Year To Go' events, including in Canada in 2024 and Germany in 2022, so it would make sense for her to attend the U.K. event as well. That said, no official plans have been confirmed yet. A source told Page Six: "It is far too early to say. No plans have been set yet."
Royal Expert Believes Meghan Markle Wants To Steal The Spotlight From Prince Harry
However, another royal expert believes Meghan and her team are already quietly preparing; and he doesn't think it bodes well for Prince Harry!
According to the Daily Express, royal expert Mark Dolan believes Meghan is keen to visit the U.K. and attend the Invictus Games event to steal the limelight from Prince Harry in a bid to revive her public image. "I think she's going to humiliate Harry when she comes because it's going to be the Meghan show," he predicted.
Dolan also believes Meghan's presence will be a big shift for Prince Harry – who he claimed looked visibly happier and more relaxed in his home country without his wife – predicting that he would be reduced to being "Meghan Markle's bag carrier" during the visit. Ouch!
"This is a woman who claims to have hated her time as a frontline serving royal... And yet, she's coming back for more... She wants to come back to a country that was so cruel to her and has a press that was so prejudicial and nasty and cruel," Dolan continued, adding that he believes she wants to return because her "stock value" is very low.
"In the United States they don't like her," he declared, adding: "She's one of the least popular American celebrities. All of the big stars and the Hollywood luminaries have turned their backs on the Sussexes."

It should come as no surprise to hear that the internet doesn't have high hopes for Meghan's potential visit. Many people appear to be very skeptical about her motives, akin to Dolan, while others don't believe the trip will happen at all. And then there are the countless others who insist she isn't welcome!
"Crawling back with the tail between her legs in the hope that she'll get more stories to sell," speculated one Instagram user on a Page Six post. "Seems to me the Sussexes fled the UK and are now fleeing the US. Could this be related to failed business ventures and the threat of deportation?" wondered a second, as a third thought she and Prince Harry "need $$$."
"Will they declare bankruptcy soon?" asked a fourth. "I'm pretty sure that's never gonna happen!" exclaimed a fifth. "She won't go because she knows she'll be booed everywhere she goes," predicted a sixth, as a seventh echoed: "Very much doubt it because she will be booed!" "Ginger and Nutmeg are not welcome. She knows they will be booed," agreed an eighth, followed by three crying laughing emojis.
