Meghan Markle Reportedly Told Invictus Games Employee How To Address Her
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew to Canada in February for the 2025 Invictus Games. According to reports, the event's chief executive, Scott Moore, wanted to ensure he was being respectful and asked the couple directly how they wished to be addressed, particularly since they stepped back as working royals in 2020.
Traditionally, male members of the royal family are initially addressed as 'Your Royal Highness,' followed by 'Sir,' while female members are addressed as 'Your Royal Highness' and then 'Ma'am.' (Always good to know!)
Moore told the Daily Mail that when he asked the former Suits actress directly, she replied: "Ma'am is fine." He added that Prince Harry opted for "Sir." He confirmed: "I did make sure to ask how I should be addressing them when they get here, and I was told the simple 'sir' and 'ma'am' is fine."
