For petite girls, wearing midi skirts can be hit or miss. Sometimes all that material can eat up our small frames. But we're not here to tell you that you have to avoid them completely: "There is a way to make anything work!" explains celebrity stylist Jeni Elizabeth. "It's all in the style and how you wear it." Amen to that! We're firm believers in that rule, too, and have rounded up the best styling tips for petite girls for wearing midi skirts.
What are they?

Pro Tip: Go A-line
"A midi skirt can work on petite girls if it's A-line and pleated," explains Nicole Winston of Take 1 Thing Off.
Jeni Elizabeth couldn't agree more. "I do believe that midi skirts should be A-line. J Crew, Zara and H&M always have a great selection for petite girls."

Pro Tip: Go with a great heel.
"I always tell my shorter clients they must find the perfect go-to heel. This always accentuates the legs and gives the appearance they are longer than they are!" says Jeni Elizabeth. "Always pair your midi skirts with an adorable heel or even a fun sandal."
Nicole agrees. "Midi skirts work best for petite girls when paired with a substantial stiletto." TIme to go shoe shopping!

Pro Tip: Avoid form-fitting.
"A form fitted midi can make a petite body disproportionate and it adds extra emphasis on her smaller size," warns Nicole. "Even with a super tall shoe her legs can appear to look stumpy." Nobody wants that!

Pro Tip: Tuck Your Shirt.
"Make sure the shirt is fitted and tucked in to give a waistline," advises Jeni Elizabeth.
And what type of shirt is best? "Deep V necks and monochromatic look awesome on more petite women!" she says.

Pro Tip: Steal looks from your favorite petite celebs
"Mary Kate Olson and Kourtney Kardashian are two very well known petite women who have been known to rock a midi skirt," Jeni Elizabeth points out.
