And her comments are more relevant than ever following the news that she and husband Jake Bongiovi have welcomed their second child via adoption.
The Stranger Things star, 22, also gave fans a glimpse at their family of four in her latest Instagram post celebrating two years of marriage with Bongiovi. She shared the post with her 70.7M Instagram followers on September 21st, captioned: “Two years married. Oh, how you have changed my life, j. I love love love you! Here’s to always marching to the beat of our own drum.”
The first picture showed Millie and Jake on the grounds of Villa Cetinale in Italy, where they tied the knot in 2024, holding both of their children in the distance. The second slide was a video of Millie and Jake dancing and then sharing a kiss at the end. Aww!

Millie Bobby Brown And Jake Bongiovi Welcome Second Child
Millie and Jake, the son of Jon Bon Jovi, adopted their first child – a daughter – last year. It was confirmed earlier this month that they had welcomed a second baby – a son – via adoption.
In March 2025, the Enola Holmes actress revealed on the Smartless podcast that she and Jake wanted lots of children, as they both came from big families. She said at the time: "I really want a family. I really want a big family. I'm one of four. [Jake's] one of four. So, it is definitely in our future."
On August 21st, 2025, they revealed that they had welcomed their first child, writing in a joint statement on Instagram: "This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy."
The British actress revealed that the newest member of their family had been born in a post she shared on September 17th, alongside a picture of her and Jake's hands holding one of the newborn's hands. Millie also wore a ring with "mom" on it. She captioned the post: "Hi little guy!"

The Damsel actress has made her thoughts on adoption clear, previously saying on the Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast that adoption was "always part of my childhood dreams." She added: "Every time I was at home and I was, you know, 5, 6 years old, my parents were like, 'You had your baby dolls.' They were all adopted. I never had any of them myself. And I never pretended I was pregnant."
"I had a lot of adopted friends growing up," she also said, this time on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast. "I was someone who, I don't know, always wanted to be a mum; that was always a goal, but for me, adoption was kind of the first thing I always wanted to do," she continued. Millie added: "I don't necessarily think I have some amazing, elaborate answer, but when it's in your heart, it's just in your heart. I just thought that's going to be a part of my journey."
But not everyone has been a fan, with Millie facing criticism from many people after she and Jake adopted their first child, as well as over the couple getting married at such a young age.
Speaking on Not Gonna Lie back in June, she recalled feeling shocked by how many women were among her critics, saying: "I was like, 'This is vicious. You are vicious.' And I don't have time for angry women that just need to feel like they need to bring you down, especially when it comes to motherhood. I've never experienced anything like this."
