This could put a damper on your hair routine.
If you recently bought a hair dryer brush from Amazon, you may want to check the product before using it again. Two hair dryer brushes sold on the online retailer are being recalled due to electric shock and electrocution hazards, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recalls involve thousands of hair styling tools sold under the DHASUWT and Wantefully brands. Find all the details below.

DHASUWT Hair Dryer Brushes
About 1,738 DHASUWT hair dryer and blow dryer brushes are included in the recall. The products were sold on Amazon from October 2024 through June 2026 for around $27.
The recalled DHASUWT brushes include:
- DHASUWT Hair Dryer and Blow Dryer Brush
- Negative Ion Hair Dryer Brush
- 1Step Ionic Hair Straightener Brush Hair Dryer Hot Air Brush
and other similarly named products. They are black with a pink design and have the model number XR-8801.
According to the CPSC, the hair dryer brushes are missing an integrated immersion protection device required for hair dryers. This means they could electrocute or shock people if they touch water while plugged in. Yikes!
There are also smoking and fire hazards at hand. The CPSC says it has received 10 reports of the recalled brushes smoking or catching fire. No injuries have been reported.
Wantefully Hair Dryer Brushes
A second recall affects approximately 2,295 Wantefully hair dryer brushes sold on Amazon. These products were available from February through March 2026 for around $30.
The recalled products include:
- 2 in 1 Hair Dryer & Styler
- One Step Hair Dryer Brush Straightner
- Negative Ion Electric Hot Air Blow Dryer Comb
They also have model number XR-8801 and feature a black paddle brush with a pink striped design.
Like the DHASUWT brushes, the Wantefully products lack the required integrated immersion protection device. As a result, they can pose an electrocution or shock hazard if they come into contact with water while plugged in.
The brushes can also overheat and pose a burn hazard. The CPSC reports one incident in which a Wantefully hair dryer overheated and melted. No injuries have been reported.
What To Do If You Have One Of These Hair Tools
If you're in possession of one of the recalled tools, you should stop using it and unplug it immediately for your safety.
For the DHASUWT recall, consumers can contact Junkins at DHASUWT_recall@163.com to request a full refund. The company is asking consumers to cut the power cord and submit a photo of the destroyed product.
Wantefully customers can contact Guang Zhou at wantefully@163.com for a full refund. Consumers are also being instructed to cut the power cord and provide a photo showing that the product has been destroyed.
