We’re desperate for updates about The Queen’s health, after she was forced to pull out of the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph on Sunday, November 14th at the very last moment, due to an alleged back sprain. The Queen’s health has been quite a hot topic of discussion ever since she had an overnight hospital stay on October 20th, although the reason hasn’t been disclosed. Luckily, Prince Charles was more than forthcoming when asked about the British monarch’s health, and he gave quite a detailed update about how Her Majesty is doing!

“She’s alright, thank you very much,” the 73-year-old Prince of Wales promptly told a Sky News royal correspondent on Wednesday, November 17th during a trip to Jordan. “Once you get to 95, it’s not quite as easy as it used to be,” he continued, before adding: “It’s bad enough at 73.”

The Queen’s back sprain didn’t seem to hinder her for too long, as she was well enough for a brief meet and greet at Windsor Castle just a few days later. On Wednesday, November 17th, Queen Elizabeth II was pictured standing without her walking stick and greeting General Sir Nick Carter, the Chief of the Defense Staff. She was wearing a long-sleeved floral midi dress, and seemed to be in good spirits judging from the photos and reports.

Despite The Queen’s brief meet and greet, several royal experts have once again hinted that the monarch may be moving into a new stage of reigning that involves fewer face to face appearances and fewer work commitments in general; even if she doesn’t necessarily want that! And although Prince Charles insisted that The Queen was “alright,” the fact that he also mentioned that things aren’t quite the same as they used to be because of her age was apparently very telling. And it’s what he *didn’t* say that royal correspondents have said seems to speak volumes.

"I think it's interesting that we've seen her in these speeches recently reminding us about no one being immune to the aging process," royal reporter Victoria Murphy told weekly royal podcast Palace Confidential, as per The Express. "These little lines that are dropped in that are very easy to read into. Then Charles being asked recently as well about it and basically his words were to the effect of, she's 95 and it's just not possible. I feel that gives us a very strong sense of the direction now that there is this wide acknowledgement that she cannot be as visible or as busy."

Murphy continued: "Palace aides are balancing this issue of her being very elderly and entitled to medical privacy being head of state and when the public does need to know. I think it's probably fair to say that they're not going to release all the information. There are probably lots of details that we're not aware of but when it comes to stuff that they do put out, I don't believe there is any question in the accuracy of that. It's more what else is going on that we're not fully getting."
