Prince Charles may be doing all he can to try and make things right with his youngest son, but it doesn’t look like Prince William and Kate Middleton feel the same way about Prince Harry, or his wife, Meghan Markle, and have no immediate intention to make things right between them. Oh no!
According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are heading to the U.S. for this year’s Earthshot Prize Awards, which most would think is a great opportunity to stop by Montecito, California and catch up with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case, as Prince William and Kate are seemingly ‘snubbing’ them by not making plans to see them. The official reason is that they simply don’t have time in their schedules to squeeze in a visit on what will be their first U.S. trip in eight years, but royal experts think otherwise…
"It would be an ideal situation to take the time out to meet," royal expert Neil Sean commented, according to The Express. "When you think about it, both in the same country and away from prying eyes because it’s a little bit easier to get away from the media over there because it’s such a vast place. You can arrange to meet anywhere, but sadly that will not be possible."
Sean went on to say that the future King and Queen simply have no time for unscheduled "private" visits during their U.S. trip, which we currently don’t know the duration of; but he added that the main reason is most likely due to Prince William finding it hard to forgive his brother for what he said during his and Meghan's bombshell Oprah interview that aired in March last year. (Wow, has it really been that long?!) "They’re planning a packed schedule with no private time for visits," he continued. "Very nice and regally put. This all centers upon the fact that William is finding it very hard to move on from all those allegations that Harry put out about him and his family via Oprah."
But even if they did pay the Sussexes a visit, it's been hinted several times that Prince William and Kate would never actually stay with them at their Montecito home, with security being one of the biggest reasons. "If they stayed with Harry, it would turn into a circus and also be a security nightmare, taking attention away from the green cause, so I expect William and Kate to concentrate on their efforts and not meet up with them," royal expert Phil Dampier told The Sun back in October.
"William and Kate have always been very popular in the U.S. but have not been there for some time, so they will want to boost their profile," he added. Perhaps the Cambridges will visit the Sussexes in a last-minute and very-secret meeting (i.e. one which won't be disclosed to the media until after it happens!) similar to Harry and Meghan's visit to the Queen in Windsor Castle back in April, which they made before flying to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games. We guess we'll just have to wait and see!
