Queen Elizabeth II Reportedly Didn't Think Kate Middleton And Meghan Markle Were 'Working Well' Together
Royal historian Sally Bedell Smith recently published her conversations with the late Queen's cousin and close friend, Lady Elizabeth Anson, who passed away in November 2020, on her Substack blog Royal Extra. And the late monarch seemed to have concerns about the former Suits actress even before the royal wedding in May, 2018!
"Meghan and William and Kate are not working well. That is what the Queen said, particularly about the two girls," Anson reportedly said, as per Bedell Smith's blog.
And it wasn't just the late Queen who had reservations, judging by Anson's comments! "It's worrying that so many people are questioning whether Meghan is right for Harry," she continued, adding: "The problem, bless his heart, is that Harry is neither bright nor strong, and she is both." How charming!
Meghan Markle And Kate Middleton's Most Talked-About Disagreement
We don't know what particular instance Anson was referring to, but we do know that the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex's most talked about disagreement involves Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress, and the fallout that followed.
Both women have seemingly suggested that the other made them cry, while Prince Harry claimed in his bombshell memoir Spare that his sister-in-law was upset when the As Ever founder said she had "baby brain" during a conversation about wedding rehearsals.
Prince William and Prince Harry even briefly touched on the dynamic between the four of them during The Royal Foundation Forum in February 2018 – the same event Prince Harry infamously referenced in Spare as the moment Kate allegedly "grimaced" when Meghan asked to borrow some lip gloss before going on stage.
The Prince of Wales reportedly said, while laughing, "Oh yes," when asked if there had been disagreements, while the Invictus Games founder chimed in to clarify they were "healthy disagreements." His brother then added: "Is it resolved? We don't know."
