Ryan Seacrest Discusses Dating Red Flags
The American Idol host opened up on the April 6th episode of his On Air With Ryan Seacrest radio show about his dating rituals, including what he does to spot red flags early on.
One thing that is very important to him is politeness – specifically politeness to strangers – asking co-hosts Tanya Rad and DJ Sisanie: "When you're out on a run or a walk or a bike ride, do you say hi to people that pass? If you don't, I'm not so sure about you."
The former Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host went on: "And if someone says 'good morning' to you on the path and you don't respond, that is a red flag. I take everybody out for a little exercise. It's a test." Well, now we know!
Another thing that is important to him is peaceful caffeination, as he explained that he wants to be able to enjoy a simple – emphasis on the simple – cup of coffee with his partner.
"I really look forward to getting up and having my coffee. I think if we can't share that moment together, it's a red flag," he explained, adding: "So, 'I need coffee' is a green flag. Don't have a lot, and please don't put milk and stuff in it. Green flag: black coffee drinker." Does it seem like he is asking for a lot, or are his requests reasonable?
Ryan Seacrest Reportedly Insists On 'Background Checks' For Potential Girlfriends
This isn't the first time that Seacrest's wishes for potential partners has been discussed. Back in 2024, the same year he and Aubrey split, an insider shared what Seacrest will and will not be looking for in a partner.
"She must be young, pretty and ambitious to a point," an insider reportedly told Closer Weekly at the time, before explaining one crucial step he will be taking…
"Ryan's insisting on background checks. He's not proud about it, but he feels they're necessary to protect himself," they dished.
The insider went on to say: "Anything alarming in a person's past, like lying about a job or a criminal conviction or lawsuit, would definitely be a deal-breaker. Just because someone said they graduated from Harvard doesn't make it true. He wants it verified."
