When beloved judge Katy Perry isn’t giving contestants loving advice that makes us tear up while watching American Idol, she’s busy wowing us with her style choices. For the show’s top 24 semi-finals round last week, the “When I’m Gone” singer, 37, donned a shimmering, curve-hugging, disco-ball-esque dress that made our jaws drop.
The strapless, cinched and silvery item was designed by Brandon Maxwell and from the luxury label’s Resort ’22 line. Perry, who is never one to shy away from a bold print or pattern, went with this instantly iconic embossed croc gown and chose accessories that matched it and kept the overall metallic theme going strong.

With pointed-toe silver heels, various rings and large hoop earrings, Perry dazzled and left us “Wide Awake” after seeing her glamorous look. To top it all off, she wore her long, raven locks styled down into stunning waves and rocked a bold smokey eye and glossy pink lip.
Perry shared her sparkly get-up with her 157 million Instagram followers in a post last week, and acknowledged the knock-out effect her show-stopping garment had. “The final judgement of the platinum season of #americanidol… it all sounds kinda dramatique no?” she wrote in her caption, before adding, “WELL IT IS SO TUNE IN TONIGHT.”
