Our skin undergoes a lot of changes as we get older. But regardless of your skin type or age, concerns like dullness and uneven tone and texture always seem to be a problem most people have difficulty fixing. Sure, there are plenty of skincare products that have brightening properties, but none will work if the foods and drinks you’re eating aren’t optimizing your skin’s overall health. In fact, there’s one tea that dermatologists recommend to get glowing, younger-looking skin–it’s rooibos tea!

This skin-healthy tea is known to treat a variety of skin conditions including eczema and acne flare-ups thanks to its pathogen-fighting flavonoids. But, it’s also one of the best teas you can have if you have mature skin because it’s loaded with superoxide dismutase, which works to neutralize free radicals and slow the appearance of fine lines.

“Studies have shown the rooibos is packed with antioxidants that may help skin and overall health, both when sipped or even applied topically,” Kristina Richens, Minister of Commerce at The Republic of Tea, tells Eat This, Not That!
