Egg White Oatmeal

Oatmeal is healthy on its own, but the addition of egg whites can give this breakfast staple a boost of protein.

According to Eating Well, oatmeal has a lot of health benefits for weight loss: "Oatmeal's packed with fiber and it keeps you feeling fuller longer. Second, a recent study in the reported that eating a breakfast made with "slow-release" carbohydrates-such as oatmeal or bran cereal-3 hours before you exercise may help you burn more fat."

The article continues, "Eating "slow-release" carbohydrates doesn't spike blood sugar as high as eating refined carbohydrates (think: white toast). In turn, insulin levels don't spike as high. Because insulin plays a role in signaling your body to store fat, having lower blood sugar levels may help you burn fat."

Egg whites add protein to this breakfast dish, which can boost weight loss.

Healthline explains, "By replacing carbs and fat with protein, you reduce the hunger hormone and boost several satiety hormones. This leads to a major reduction in hunger and is the main reason protein helps you lose weight. It can make you eat fewer calories automatically."
