Burger King's Value Menu is pretty amazing. It offers the fast food chain's best menu items at a lower price, so you can't really go wrong with anything on it -- well, that is if you're not concerned about freshness. BK employees say that not everything on the Value Menu is made fresh and they warn customers to be cautious with what they order from it. Especially when it comes to the chicken nuggets!

"I wouldn't order [nuggets] unless you specify fresh ones," says Burger King employee Giulls. "The less popular products might be fried then left on the warmer for longer than you would like, freshness-wise."

Freshness isn't the only factor you should be considering when ordering nuggets from BK's Value Menu. A former employee says that people who are in a rush shouldn't order them because they take a long time to make. Not only was this the case for the nuggets, but also for the chicken tenders and grilled chicken sandwiches, too! "I remember that the tenders took forever to cook and we didn't really make them that often, so most times they were made to order. Same for the grilled chicken," the former employee said, accoridng to Delish.
While this news is heartbreaking, it's actually kind of a blessing in disguise. Fast food nuggets are notorious for being filled with the unhealthiest ingredients, like GMO corn, bleached wheat, sugar, hydrogenated oil, and other preservatives that extend their shelf life even if they're not fresh from the fryer. Not to mention they're loaded with sodium and fat, making them awful for your body and your waistline.
Parting ways with Burger King's chicken nuggets won't be easy, but at least you know it'll be the best decision for your body!
