We’re keeping a close eye on Her Majesty The Queen these days, following her brief but still very scary overnight stay in hospital on Wednesday October 20th. A royal spokesperson previously mentioned that The Queen’s stay was just so doctors could perform “preliminary investigations,” although she was advised to take it easy and perhaps even cut down on her royal engagements for a while.
However, despite being instructed to rest for the next two weeks, Queen Elizabeth II seems to have other ideas. Although she did indeed cancel her trip to Glasgow for the Cop26 climate summit that is currently going on, as per the medical advice she was given, bedrest was far from the 95-year-old British monarch’s mind, as she was spotted driving her green Jaguar estate around the grounds at Windsor Castle while wearing her trademark driving outfit of a headscarf and sunglasses. We guess this is proof that The Queen is fine and well, right?

If you cast your minds back to last month, you may remember that The Queen was forced to briefly scale back her royal duties, and "reluctantly" had to cancel her trip to Northern Ireland. According to a new statement from Buckingham Palace, which was released on Friday October 29th, Her Majesty was advised to rest for another two weeks, and only "light activities" were to be performed. Is driving considered a light activity? We guess so!
"Her Majesty’s doctors have advised that she should continue to rest for at least the next two weeks. The doctors have advised that Her Majesty can continue to undertake light, desk-based duties during this time, including some virtual Audiences, but not to undertake any official visits," read the statement from the Palace.
The Queen pre-recorded a message to the world leaders and other delegates at the Cop26 climate summit, as she wasn’t able to be there in person, and she has also canceled a few other upcoming engagements, including the annual Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on November 13th. However, officials have stated that it is still her "firm intention" to attend the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph in London on November 14th. We hope to see her there!
