After both Taylor Swift and Adele turned down the offer to play at this years’ Super Bowl halftime show, fans had no idea who the NFL was going to give the offer to next. When Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny was announced as the headliner, fans were elated, especially because Bad Bunny is a known Trump critic. Keep reading for more information.
Bad Bunny Announced As Super Bowl Halftime Show
With hit songs like "LA CANCIÓN" and "Me Porto Bonito," Bad Bunny's performance will certainly be a fun one. The three-time Grammy winner sings mostly in Spanish, saying to Vanity Fair in 2023, "I am never going to [sing in English] just because someone says I need to do it to reach a certain audience."
The artist made the announcement on his Instagram with a video of him in an unbuttoned suit seated on a field goal. "Super Bowl LX. Bay Area. February 2026," he captioned the clip.
Many fans are excited at the chance to see Bad Bunny perform in the US, as the singer announced his world tour would not include the United States in protest of the large-scale raids that are being carried out by ICE agents.
But others, conservative Trump supporters, namely, are not pleased at all.

Social Media Reactions
Bad Bunny has been outspoken about his criticism of Trump, so naturally, MAGA supporters were immediately (and predictably) devastated. "An all-Spanish halftime show at the Super Bowl?" one person asked on X, formerly Twitter. "I don't really care. But this will probably be the most hated Super Bowl halftime show of all time."
Other Trump critics were delighted that the MAGA clan was throwing a fit. "MAGA is going to hate this next Super Bowl!" one person wrote on X. "RETWEET if you stand with Bad Bunny against Trump!"
"Country artist won't be in the Super Bowl rotation for some time," another said. "I love this for MAGA."
"I'm not a Bad Bunny fan, but if MAGA hates him because he's Puerto Rican, therefore American, I'll listen to him all day," said another.
"Now I'm gonna watch!" a final fan said.
