Usha Vance Attends Donald Trump's Women's Health Executive Order Signing With Her Newborn Baby

On October 19th, President Trump signed an executive order aimed at advancing women's health during a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden. First Lady Melania Trump championed the initiative, which she said would help improve health outcomes for women and girls.

The order directs the creation of a new Women's Health Division within the National Institutes of Health and establishes a White House Women's Health Task Force. The initiative is reportedly intended to expand research into conditions that uniquely or disproportionately affect women and improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Second Lady Usha Vance also attended the signing, surprising the crowd while carrying her newborn baby as she appeared alongside other prominent women in the administration's orbit. She wore a gray plaid blazer over a dark top, paired with black cropped pants and dark pointed-toe heels, keeping her look polished while holding her little one.

Usha Vance's Appearance at the Women's Health Event Sparks Backlash Online

Despite the focus on women's health, the signing ceremony sparked backlash from social media users who questioned the Trump administration's commitment to women's rights given its past positions on abortion access and gender-affirming care. The appearance of Usha and other prominent women at the event also led some to question whether the ceremony was a meaningful step toward improving women's lives or more of a PR moment.

"Why did he make Usha bring the baby up and then totally ignore them?" an Instagram user asked, referring to Trump. "He couldn't care less; strictly a photo op for him."

"What a mockery of women," a user commented, as another wrote, "Oh, please, trust nothing about women's health to these dingalings."

"What a joke," one user added.

"I do not trust this administration to do anything to benefit women!" wrote another.
