A probiotic is a supplement that contains live bacteria — which sounds nasty, but is actually incredibly healthy for you.
These strains of live bacteria are considered “good” bacteria that help cancel out any “bad” bacteria in your gut.
Gut health is incredibly important when it comes to issues like inflammation, the various diseases and illnesses associated with inflammation (including cardiovascular disease), and obesity. There are studies that show probiotics can curb inflammation in the body — and by tackling inflammation you are also making it easier for your body to burn belly fat and lose weight.
Probiotics are also excellent for digestion and for helping to keep your bowel movements healthy and regular. They can reduce bloating, as well.
All of these aspects of your health will help you achieve flatter abs.
Of course, no one pill will give you flat abs.
Probiotics are an excellent aid that can help. But flat, strong abs are the result of a combination of changes and habits. Eating a diet that is high in protein and low in sugar and processed foods is the first major step to take. Adding cardio and strength training to your gym routine will help immensely. And the importance of sleeping enough and reducing your stress levels can’t be understated.
In addition to taking a daily probiotic in the morning, you can add foods that have probiotics in them. Examples of these foods include yogurt, kefir, tempeh, kimchi, miso, and kombucha.
