It looks like Meghan Markle is experiencing some upheaval in her social life–and not just because of Covid-19. The 38-year-old has recently come into the news due to her friendship with longtime pal Jessica Mulroney.

The duo became close in Toronto, and their friendship only grew stronger throughout the years. In fact, according to Marie Claire, “Mulroney was heavily involved in planning Meghan’s royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018 and her kids were among the flower girls and page boys in the wedding party.”
There are also rumors that Mulroney stayed with Meghan and Harry during their time in Vancouver Island.
However, that friendship has come to a clear end as Mulroney has come under fire for a feud with Sasha Exeter, a Black lifestyle blogger and influencer who has called out Mulroney for using her “textbook white privilege” to sabotage Exeter’s career.

According to Exeter, Mulroney "is very well aware of her wealth, her perceived power and privilege because of the color of her skin. And that, my friends, gave her the momentary confidence to come for my livelihood in writing. Textbook white privilege, really, in my personal opinion."
In the wake of this scandal, Mulroney has lost her gigs on "Good Morning America" as well as her reality show "I Do, Redo."
Additionally, it seems that she has lost the friendship of Markle in the aftermath of her dispute with Exeter.
Sources are now reporting that Markle had been hoping to cut ties with Mulroney for awhile now.
One source told Page Six that the "row has really given Meghan the excuse she was waiting for to cut Jess off for good."
Another source explained the falling out: "I don’t know what the tipping point was, but Jess has been on the outs for some time. Their friendship is definitely not what it was. And really, how can you have such a close friendship when one person is basically making a career out of the friendship?"
It probably didn't help matters that Mulroney alluded to Markle during her disagreement with Exeter.
She posted on Instagram, "I have lived a very public and personal experience with my closest friend where race was front and center."
Although Markle has not made any public statements about her friend, a source did tell Entertainment Tonight that she disagreed with Mulroney's comments.
The insider explained, "She's distanced herself from Jessica because the comments were unacceptable and offensive."
"[Meghan's friends have been] concerned for some time that Jessica has been profiting from her relationship with Meghan and using it to further her brand. That's something [Prince] William and Harry have never accepted with any of their friends," the source continued.
