Ellen DeGeneres has come under fire after the way she reportedly treated YouTuber guest Nikkie de Jager, a.k.a. YouTuber NikkieTutorials, on the set of her talk show.
The 26-year-old beauty social media star recently shared details of her January 22 experience on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. What was supposed to be an exciting and uplifting experience left de Jager disappointed.
Following her Ellen taping, de Jager took to Instagram to thank DeGeneres for giving her the opportunity to share her story with the world after she posted a YouTube video where she came out as Transgender.

However, NikkieTutorials recently shared that her experience on the talk show behind the scenes was far different from the “be kind to one another” philosophy that the 62-year-old comedian promotes.

In an interview with Dutch publication &C, de Jager said her experience at Ellen was not what she was expecting it to be like.
“‘Call me naive, but I kind of expected to be welcomed with confetti cannons: ‘Welcome to The Ellen DeGeneres Show!’ But instead I was greeted by an angry intern who was a bit overworked. I was expecting a Disney show, but got Teletubbies after dark,” she said. “Every guest had a private toilet, but I didn’t. I was not allowed to use the nearest toilet, because it was reserved for the Jonas Brothers. Why do they get a private toilet, I thought.”
Overall, de Jager was happy to be able to get the experience to share her story even though the experience of meeting her idol DeGeneres left her feeling a bit jaded.
As reported by E! News, de Jager had previously talked about her Ellen experience on the Dutch show De Wereld Draait Door and simply said the comedian wasn’t very nice. “It’s nice that you say ‘hi’ before the show...she didn’t. Ellen is just such a different world,” the YouTuber shared. Yikes!
