Brands like Cover Girl and L’Oréal better watch out, because there’s a new beauty brand in town. Today, CVS announced that the chain will release their own makeup line, Makeup Academy or MUA, this month. If I were one of the other drugstore cosmetics brands, I would be pretty nervous, because MUA is going to be good!

Based on their bestselling products and customer feedback, CVS will launch 145 new products including, a variety of lip colors including sticks, balms, crayons, glosses and stains, false eyelashes (which only makes sense because everyone buys those at the drugstore), and makeup brushes. And while there is definitely a huge demand for these products at the drugstore level, (What girl can leave a CVS without purchasing a lipstick or at least looking at them? I can’t.) we are really excited to watch this brand take off and see what will come next. Maybe, foundation? Mascara? Nail polish? Come on, CVS, don’t keep us hangin’!

Though MUA looks like it could compete with NARS or MAC with its matte black professional packaging and editorial website muapro.com (coming soon), everything in the line will retail between $5 and $26. At this price point, Makeup Academy might just become the broke girl’s go-to line. I know the college girls and post-grads will be excited! Will you try MUA? Let us know in the comments below.

And don’t forget to check out: the Wildfox sale, Taylor Swift’s Topshop dress and summer jumpsuits.
