What: mark On The Edge Liquid Eyeliner in Cleo ($5)
Why: After sitting down with Lauren Conrad and a group of fellow fashion and beauty gals, I’ve gotta say I’m a bigger fan of The Hills. The show’s star was talking about all things mark – including the company’s admirable philanthropy initiative to fight domestic violence, which LC is helping to launch – and she seemed pretty darn real and only slightly prepped.
So when she started raving about mark’s liquid liner, I was intrigued. Just like any other LA celeb, LC often has her makeup done by someone else…but her makeup artist often hands her the eyeliner so she can apply it herself. Because it’s that easy, claimed a cat-eyed Conrad.
And honestly, she wasn’t all wrong. I’m a liquid liner beginner, but I tried it this morning and LC’s claim that this one is simpler than most to apply was right on. The thin, flexible brush is easy to drag against lashes, so you don’t get a flesh-colored gap between lash and liner.
It might take me a bit more practice to be able to apply the stuff LC-style in my rear-view mirror at a red light (she says it’s all in the muscle memory), but at least I’m not terrified of it like I am most liquid liners.
