For many of us, working from home has become a new and challenging change in our lives. Finding a balance between working and living in the same space isn’t always an easy task and oftentimes requires a bit of effort. The at-home working lifestyle isn’t for everyone, but there are certain ways to create an environment where you can easily separate your work life from your home life without sacrificing comfort and style. Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams has announced a collaboration with Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) specifically designed to create an innovative approach to working from home.

The SCAD for Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Collection comprises two ranges, Alba and Ella, which feature new styles of contemporary chairs, desks and storage solutions that were designed with the same attention to craftsmanship and comfort the brand is known for. Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams collaborated with SCAD beginning in November 2020 and during a specific furniture course from March to May 2021 to research and design concept collections that balance the holistic and functional requirements of working from home. The purpose of the project was to target the shift toward remote working and focus on how home has become part of work life for many consumers.

The SCAD team conducted research that revealed four key insights that were targeted throughout the design process—comfort, aesthetic, efficiency and emotion. The future-facing work-from-home collection gives flexible workspace when needed, then transitions back into beautiful pieces for daily living. The furniture in this collection allows consumers to live a dual lifestyle that is dedicated to a home workspace and a comfortable and elegant living space.

If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your home office to fit your new work from home needs, look no further than The SCAD for Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Collection to truly transform your space. With design-forward silhouettes in elegant finishes, each piece is crafted from natural and sustainably sourced materials that allow you to live and work comfortably and efficiently. Learn more about the specific Alba and Ella ranges below and find out which products best suit your lifestyle.

Shop Alba Collection

The Alba Collection combines a dark oak finish and brushed stainless steel hardware with vegan leather accents to create a timelessly modern look and feel. The collection offers abundant statement storage, flexible work surfaces and an adjustable, mixed-material desk chair that provides comfort in mid-century-inspired style. Choose from a desk with optional return, media console, rolling file storage cabinet, desk chair and storage chest with shelves to complete your new beautiful and functional home office.

Shop Ella Collection

The Ella Collection features oak in a brushed white finish with champagne brass details and deco-inspired curves. Each piece lends a timeless glamour to any place you’d like to work in your home. You’ll notice smart design details that are infused into every piece with ease and efficiency, from clutter-taming storage to a desk with a laptop stand to a desk chair in vegan leather. In addition to Ella and Alba, there’s the executive-style Eva Desk Chair, which features rich Italian leather and a distinctive openwork metal base for a healthy sitting posture and adjustability. You’ll be able to stay organized and productive with all of these products while remaining comfortable in your own home.
