Last week we took a company field trip Birchbox SoHo to take a makeup class (more on this later) on how to perfect a bronze smokey eye. Birchbox SoHo’s floor manager and makeup artist, Shain Kish, suggested starting the look off with an eyeshadow stick. I’m not the biggest fan of eyeshadow sticks but the LOC One & Done Shadow Stick ($10) has completely changed my mind.
Birchbox created this easy-to-use shadow stick with YouTube beauty star Tati Westbrook. There are two ways to use this eyeshadow stick: 1. apply it to your lids and blend in or 2. leave it as is for a striking line. Most eyeshadows claim to last all day but they really don’t. However, once the LOC shadow stick dries, which takes about ten seconds, it does not budge. This color lasts all day and is very pigmented.
I bought the color Smoke Screen and paired it with a gold shimmery shadow. I love the way it looks together and I think the steel color lightens my brown eyes! The shadow stick goes on really easily and is great for anyone who is a beginner with eyeshadow. Basically, it’s nearly impossible to mess up.
Now, let’s get back to Birchbox makeup classes. If you didn’t know, Birchbox offers a variety of classes that take place in their gorgeous SoHo store. Learn how to perfect winged eyeliner or get your hair done by a Birchbox hairstylist. There are seriously a ton of class options and you can even do a group event! This is a great way to get together with friends or co-workers and have a total beauty day. Plus, Birchbox SoHo’s store is kind of to die for:
