Don’t be surprised when, come spring, you see socialites wearing the same surfer baja hoodies usually reserved for stoners and slackers.
While ponchos are hot f0r fall, Tory Burch took the trend one step further by replicating the Mexican baja poncho for her Spring/Summer 2011 show this morning at Fashion Week. No doubt surfer dude Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) from Fast Times At Ridgemont High (above right) would give a big “totally awesome!” to Tory. We’re kinda shocked that the same Tory famous for her Reva flats and colorful tweed jackets, dreamt up the new baja hoodie (also referred to as a “drug rug”) totally cute.
Touche, Tory. Maybe she’s onto something–after all, UGG boots were inspired by Australian surfers, turning it into an international phenomenon that still has its sea legs.
If you can’t wait for the line to hit, don’t worry – we found an authentic “Baja Hoodie” for less than $20. Get the original Baha hoodie ($19.99) and rock it before everyone else can get their hands on Tory’s.
