What To Wear To: An Interview

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression, so looking your best for an interview should be number one on your list. You'll be nervous enough as it is, so with the right ensemble, at least your mind can be free to fret over your resume (or whether your breath is fresh enough).

You'll want to look professional but not as if you are trying too hard, so a pencil skirt in a light, summer color will do the trick. Pair it with a secretary-esque bow tie blouse (very chic this season) and make sure to tuck the top into the skirt so as not to appear sloppy or unkempt.  Then, slip on some simple yet structured ballet flats in a complementary color. Your jewelry should be simple, but not non-existent, so the best option is a gold statement bracelet that shows your penchant for fun. You can add a pop of color with ruby red studs. Before you nervously walk out the door, pack your resume in a black patent leather tote that exudes professionalism, sophistication, and above all else, style.

I think most men would agree that a pencil skirt with a bow tie silk blouse is a very chic and sophisticated look.

I think we’re all tired of frumpy, full, knee length skirts that make women look like prairie people. And gals: think twice about those baby doll tops. (Hint: they make you look fat).
