Welcome to Milan Fashion Week, all!

Whether you’re on your way to Piazza del Doumo right now, or you’re anxiously awaiting the livestreams stateside, we decided to do a little refresher course in how to pronounce Italian designers’ names. Trust us, this will come in handy, and you will gain some major cool points.

When I was a fashion closet intern in college at a few high-end magazines, I faced a quandry: I didn’t know how to pronounce many of the designers’ names on the labels….

This turned out to be a quite the problem, considering I found myself having to say them, um, ALL THE TIME. Faced with a huge box with couture pieces from Commes de Garcons and Ann Demeulemeester…well let’s just say I gained a thick skin and a realization that I really should’ve taken French in high school instead of Spanish.  I won’t let this happen to you, my dears. Here we go…
