Ana de Armas just made a stunning appearance at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations event for her newest film, Blonde, and the actress is the latest to nail the ‘prairiecore’ trend! The Knives Out star, 34, donned a chic, knit cerulean sweater with white lace detailing, cute buttons and a black tied bow at the neckline. With this piece, the No Time To Die alum added a black mini skirt, and rolled up her sweater’s sleeves as she posed on the red carpet.

To complete her bookish, school girl/cottagecore-esque look, de Armas added classic black loafers, white socks and accessorized with shiny bangle bracelets. She wore her long brunette locks down, parted in the middle, and styled into loose waves. As for makeup, de Armas went for timeless black winged liner, rosy blush along her cheekbones, radiant highlighter, and a glossy pink lip. Gorg!

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that de Armas’ sweater is by celeb-fave, Italian-born, London-based designer Alessandra Rich, who is known for collared pieces, frilly, lacy details, and floral patterns that frequently fall under the ‘prairiecore’ label on TikTok, Twitter and elsewhere. Her thigh-skimming, buttoned skirt is specifically the ‘Jenna’ piece by Anna Quan, and her loafers are by Brunello Cucinell.

Outside of the New York City event this week, de Armas waved to fans, greeted them and signed autographs. She attended this private reception one day after sitting down with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show to discuss playing Marilyn Monroe in Blonde, which will be available to stream on Netflix starting September 28th. (We can’t wait!)
During her talk show appearance, de Armas said of her role, “I didn’t expect to have so much in common with [Monroe], and it was actually a lot more than I thought.” She added, “Just this opportunity alone is almost close to a miracle.”
She then said to Colbert, “A role like this was not supposed to come my way. It was not supposed to happen. Not just because I’m Latina and Cuban…it just doesn’t exist in general. This is something very, very special, and the opportunity for me to play this part was a dream.”
