Angelina Jolie’s Blonde Hair Sparks Debate As Fans Say It ‘Washes Her Out’ And She Should Return To A Darker Shade
Some admirers loved the fresh new look, while others questioned whether the shade complemented the Maria star's fair complexion, with many calling for a return to her iconic darker locks.
On February 7th, the Girl, Interrupted alum and style icon, 49, graced the awards ceremony red carpet and completed her look with a bold red lipstick hue, shimmering gold eyeshadow, black winged liner and voluminous lashes.
Jolie wore her blonde tresses down, parted in the center and styled into effortless waves. Soon after the event, red carpet pics emerged of the Maleficent actress on Instagram. One user wrote, regarding the gown and her hair color: "The dress is so pretty. But it washes her. She either needs to darken her hair or wear darker colours .. but She’s always perfect."
Someone else replied: "She’s beautiful but the blond hair washes her out." An additional commenter noted: "Blonde isn’t her color." One other chimed in: "I think she needs a warmer blonde! This dress is so pretty though!"
Another agreed: "Meh…I think her hair colour washes her out…she needs to go a little darker." One concurred: "Why the bleached blonde? she was literally the most beautiful brunette in the whole planet."
Others, however, stressed that Jolie's beauty is unmatched, and she can truly rock anything (including various hair colors). "The definition of (AGING LIKE FINE WINE) SHE'S ALWAYS BEEN SO BEAUTIFUL," one wrote. Another added: "She never takes a bad picture ! Always stunning."
Regarding her hair, Jolie previously said: "Not many people know this about me but I'm a natural blonde. My hair went from light blonde naturally to a darker kind of blonde."
Jolie's late mother Marcheline Bertrand colored her hair dark brown when she was young, a choice she continued into adulthood.
Over the years, Jolie has sported various hair colors, including black, platinum blonde, and other vibrant shades of blonde for different film roles.
She also mentioned that she refreshes her roots at home every two weeks to maintain her hair color and prevent her natural blonde from showing. Throughout her long and celebrated career, Jolie has frequently changed her hair to blonde, much to the fascination of her fans.
