Commenting on a @fashionbombdaily Instagram post of Blue Ivy's look, one person asked: "Am I the only one that thinks this is too much for a 12-year-old girl?" And it seems like they were *not* the only ones with that opinion!
"This dress is not for kids," wrote a second IG user. "Too much for 12," slammed a third, as a fourth added: "She is only 12 looking like she is 16." A fifth concurred: "This is too much for a 12-year-old."
"Although it is cute and she is cute in it, she is still only 12," wrote another Instagram user, adding: "Cover those shoulders up. So many see nothing wrong with it, and that's why there are so many grown acting little girls out here today." "Agreed," replied one fan that shared the same opinion, as someone else deemed the look "inappropriate."
"She's only 12," noted another user, followed by a shocked face emoji. "Not a strapless dress and makeup no no no," they continued, as someone else said: "Def not something I would have worn at 12. But I wasn't a millionaire at 12 either." Yet another critic commented: "I must be too old fashion because that dress is too grown for a 12-year-old and face full with makeup. She looks so uncomfortable in that dress."
Many Other Fans Defend Blue Ivy's 'Beautiful' Premiere Look
Of course, there were other fans who thought Blue Ivy *did* look age-appropriate, while many others simply gushed about her appearance, while noting the resemblance to the SirDavis founder and even her aunt, Solange Knowles.
"Her mom's twin," gushed one fan, followed by three heart eyes emojis. "Look at our GIRL. She is growing up!" exclaimed a second, as a third thought she was "dressed to perfection." "She's going to be so tall. I love seeing her grow up. Wishing her nothing but success," praised a fourth fan.
Referencing some of the negative comments, another IG user said: "I'm confused! Y'all wanted her to wear a Blues Clues shirt? She looks great, she's at a movie premiere, of course she'll have a lil make up on." Another fan joked: "She looks lovely! Today's kids really just skipped straight over the awkward years."
"She's gorgeous and looks just like her mom. How the heck can anyone say something bad about a child?" asked another. "She's gonna be tall and beautiful," someone else predicted, adding: "I see a lot of Solange in her." "She looks exactly like her mama right here," thought another, while someone else said: "She's beautiful."
