While many of Blake Shelton‘s fans are upset over the longtime coach’s upcoming departure from The Voice, his former co-star Adam Levine doesn’t seem too upset about it.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight this week, the Maroon 5 frontman said he thought it was “about time” that Shelton, 46, (who served as a coach for 23 seasons) left the musical competition show. While some fans on Twitter stressed that Levine, 44, was just joking, others expressed their “disappointment” with his comments.

Shelton announced his Voice exit back in October 2022, when the country singer wrote in a statement for his fans, “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from ‘The Voice’ after season 23. This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me.”

Mixed Reactions To Levine’s Words From Shelton’s Fans
Many Voice viewers are aware of the playful banter and relationship that Levine and Shelton had when judges on the show, and could see how Levine was joking when saying it was “about time” for Shelton to go.

Others, however, were more annoyed at his comments, and took to Twitter to air their grievances (some bringing up how Levine “isn’t as loved” as he used to be among former Voice coaches after his rumored Fall 2022 cheating scandal).

“He exited the show himself in rude fashion, I don’t think he has room to talk much,” one user tweeted in response to Levine’s comment about Shelton as another added, “Comin from someone who basically threw a person on his team under the bus.”
Someone else chimed in, taking a more positive stance, “I’m sad that now they will both be gone–Regardless of how well they got along in real life—They were the best thing on– The Voice!!”
