Bradley Cooper debuted a fresh buzzcut in New York City on September 27th when he took off his hat. Engaged in a phone conversation, the Maestro actor, 48, was photographed by paparazzi while sporting a new hairstyle. The new ‘do left fans curious as to whether it was for an upcoming film. Others on X (formerly Twitter) deemed him to be ‘unrecognizable‘ or ‘different looking.’
However, the Oscar nominee’s transformation wasn’t entirely unexpected as he had previously teased the change earlier last month when he joined ex-partner Irina Shayk in escorting their 6-year-old daughter, Lea de Seine, on her first day of school in the Big Apple.

Over the past few weeks, Cooper has been wearing baseball caps, beanies and other hats to cover up his buzzcut. During one of his September walks in the city (as seen above), the Silver Linings Playbook star donned a sleek navy jacket, lighter blue trousers, a white tee and a black baseball cap. While his new cut wasn't fully shown, fans could still tell that his head was shaved. On X, one fan tweeted in response to recent pics of Cooper, "looks different." Another added that he was still "looking good as always!"
On September 6th, Cooper was snapped with his ex and supermodel Shayk, 37, as the former couple brought their daughter Lea to school. For that outing, Cooper wore another baseball cap during the school dropoff, with his hair styled in a neatly shaved fashion as seen in the paparazzi pictures.
To complement his attire, he chose a basic navy tee and shorts, accentuated with funky tie-dyed socks. Shayk went for an oversized black hoodie with matching riding boots, a large bag slung over her shoulder and dark sunglasses to complete her look.
Throughout September, Cooper maintained his habit of wearing baseball caps and rotated through an assortment of styles. Eventually, he unveiled his buzzed head.
Just the previous month, Cooper was still sporting longer hair while vacationing in Italy with Shayk (as seen on her Instagram Story). The former couple ended their four-year relationship in 2019, and are now both reportedly linked to other A-listers.
Shayk has been seeing Tom Brady, according to multiple outlets, and Cooper has been spotted with Gigi Hadid recently.
