Donald Trump And Xi Jinping Just Wrapped Up A Major State Visit
The 80-year-old welcomed Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan, to the nation's capital for the state visit, which took place September 23-25 and marked Xi's first visit to the White House in more than a decade. The visit included an official arrival ceremony with military performances and a flyover, a state dinner at the White House, discussions between Trump and Xi, and other ceremonial events.
Throughout the visit, the White House released numerous photos of Trump and Xi together as they participated in the various events. Among them was footage and imagery showing the two presidents standing side by side, giving social media users an opportunity to compare their heights more closely than they typically can in separate appearances.
A Photo Of Trump And Xi's Height Difference Went Viral
One Instagram post comparing the two influential leaders quickly went viral after pointing out that Trump is listed online as 6'3" in the report from his White House physician, while Xi is commonly listed at 5'11". The image showed the two men standing next to each other during the state visit, but the apparent difference between them looked smaller than some users expected based on those reported measurements.
That led social media users to take a closer look at the photo and debate whether the camera angle, footwear, posture, or other factors could be affecting how tall the presidents appeared, mostly drawing attention to the Apprentice star's height. In the image circulating online, the president does not appear to stand a full four inches taller than Xi.
"[He's] 6'3" if he's standing on all the pages of the files he's mentioned in," an Instagram user commented, referring to the Epstein files.
"He's an orange con-artist," added another.
However, some fans of the president and other users came to his defense.
"I don't like him, but older people shrink," one noted.
"People shrink as they age," added another.
