President Donald Trump‘s hair has long been a topic of discussion, and the internet once again had plenty to say after he debuted noticeably thicker and more voluminous hair while speaking at Red Rock Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Wednesday, August 5th.

The POTUS, 80, got a lot of attention for his hair, especially as it appeared much thinner just a few days earlier during a meeting with reporters aboard Air Force One. This drastic change led many people to speculate that he was wearing a wig, while others went even further, claiming it wasn’t the real Trump at all, but rather an impersonator.

Reactions To Donald Trump's Thicker Hair

"Is Trump rocking a wig?" asked one X user in the comment section of a video from the president's speech. "He is definitely wearing a hair piece!" exclaimed a second, as a third said: "New wig alert!" A fourth speculated: "Looks like a man's “weave” which is sewn into his own hair to add that volume. It's probably where he got that word he uses to excuse his veering off subject when he's talking."

"They're calling it the best taxpayer-funded coiffure there ever was," quipped a fifth, as a sixth said: "He's grifted billions but still won't splurge on anything that looks better than a dead ferret."

"So it is true then? That president Trump has finally taped a ferret to his head?" echoed a seventh, as an eighth concurred: "Is anyone missing their pet?" "That thing is going to grow legs and go back to its owner," joked a ninth, while a tenth said: "They put a dead squirrel on his head."

"This is not Donald Trump," declared an eleventh. "Could that be the fake Donald Trump?" asked a twelfth, while a thirteenth said: "Maybe that's why it looks like an SNL skit to me. That doesn't look like 2026 Trump. It looks like an impersonator in a wig." "He looks like a Saturday Night Live character playing Trump," agreed a fourteenth.

Plastic Surgeon And Transplant Expert Analyzes Donald Trump's Hair

Trump has long sparked conversation about his hair. Back in 2023, there was widespread speculation that he had undergone a hair transplant, prompting Dr. Gary Linkov, a New York City-based plastic surgeon and hair restoration expert, to analyze his hair throughout the years.

According to Linkov, Trump's hairline appeared to change significantly between age 18 and age 32, becoming "straighter, much lower and less natural." He also pointed to what he described as small "islands of hair," leading him to speculate that Trump may have undergone an early plug-graft hair transplant, a technique that was common decades ago but is now considered outdated because it can create an unnatural appearance.

In his YouTube video, Linkov also suggested Trump may later have undergone additional procedures, including FUT and FUE hair transplants, to improve thinning and increase density over time. He noted that photos showing Trump's hair blowing in the wind, along with what he believed were signs of scalp scarring, supported his theory that multiple procedures may have been performed over the years.

He concluded by noting that hair loss affects people from all walks of life – even presidents – and said visible scarring can sometimes offer clues about the types of hair restoration procedures someone may have undergone. While Trump has never confirmed having a hair transplant or wearing a wig, speculation about his hair has gone on for years, with each new public appearance fueling fresh debate online.
