The “Don’t Start Now” hitmaker took a break from her long-awaited Future Nostalgia tour to speak with host Jimmy Fallon about her viral Tik Tok dance moves and working with Elton John on their hit, “Cold Heart” in her March 3rd appearance. After Fallon complimented her stylish early aughts-inspired ensemble, she said with a smile, “You know I always make a big effort when I come on this show.” When looking at her chic, two-piece plaid set (composed of a heart-shaped crop top and skimpy skirt) she’s so right— and it did pay off!

Lipa’s set was designed by New York City fashion brand Area—including the ‘Crystal Trim Heart Top’ and ‘Crystal Spike Skirt’ with feather trim, both from the Spring 2022 Couture collection. The scoop-neck, low-cut top featured thin straps, highlighting the singer’s toned upper body and glowing skin while its bottom seam emphasized her slim midriff and tiny waist. The super-short skirt drew attention to her killer curves and figure, all while the crystal and fur trims gave a nostalgic, riot grrrl and grungy vibe.

To complete her sultry look, Lipa added (the very trendy) furry fringe boots from Area in black, coming up just past her knees. Around her neck, she matched the crystal embellishments of her top with a silver Bulgari chain necklace, and wore the brand’s Serpenti Viper earrings, rings and bracelets. The “Levitating” singer wore her long, raven locks in a high bun with piecey eyebrow-grazing curtain bangs.

As her segment on The Tonight Show came to a close, Fallon brought out one of Lipa’s biggest fans — an 80-year-old man named Papa Richy who viral on TikTok last year for his adorable reaction to his daughter surprising him with concert tickets to a Lipa show. As one of his greatest wishes was to dance with the superstar, fans’ hearts were warmed as it came true, with Lipa dancing with him, his granddaughter and Fallon in the sweetest clip. Aww!
