You have chosen the perfect gown for your wedding day, and the last thing you want is a mishap to ruin it. Thankfully, there are so many easy hacks out there that can tackle even the most disastrous accidents out there. Here are five fast fixes for any last-minute bridal gown emergencies.
Baby Wipes For A Spill
A baby wipe can be useful for spills if the gown is not silk, says Sally Lorensen Conant, Ph.D., of Association of Wedding Gown Specialists. "I have seen silk gowns that were permanently damaged because people panicked and used the wrong solvent or rubbed the spot so hard that the finish was rubbed away."
Tide Stick For A Stain
For any stains on your beautiful gown, use a Tide to Go pen with a white washcloth to blot it out, says Renée Strauss of WEDAWAYS. This tool is so compact that it can fit comfortably in your bride emergency kit and can also be used for any other stain emergencies on the big day!
Safety Pins For A Broken Bustle
Very often accidents happen when bridesmaids do not know how to tie up the bustle, says Dr. Lorensen Conant. "And the most common emergency is a broken bustle loop or a tear when someone steps on the gown. Safety pins and a needle and thread are essential at every wedding!"
Needle & Thread For A Tear
Depending where and how severe, safety pins and needle and thread are your best bet, says Lindsey Bennett, Lead Designer at Azazie.com. "A hole in a lace skirt can easily be hand stitched closed using needle and thread. If it is more opaque fabric, it might be easier to conceal safety pins on the inside of the hole or tear."
Fashion Tape For A Slip
Is your strapless dress constantly falling down? Use fashion tape along the inside of the neckline to keep your dress in place, says Bennett.
