In the lyrics for her newest single, “The End,” the Grammy nominee, 29, opened up about her struggles with her health, but it wasn’t until this week that she revealed the specific diagnoses.
Despite the difficult journey, the “Without Me” hitmaker (real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane) expressed her gratitude towards her fans for the encouragement they have shown her.

In an Instagram post for her 31.4 million followers this week, Halsey wrote: "Thank you guys for the unbelievable amount of love for "The End" and the support you’ve shown me since its release. I realize everyone is catching up with news I’ve held in for a very long time, and I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to share."
The mom of one continued: "You’ve all been so kind so I want to share a bit more. In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life."
Medline explains that SLE, a persistent autoimmune disease, occurs when the immune system erroneously attacks healthy tissue within the body. Lymphoproliferative disorders encompass a collection of maladies that stimulate the unregulated reproduction of lymphocytes, which are a form of white blood cells.
Medical professionals classify cancerous lymphoproliferative disorders as either B-cell lymphocytic disorders or T-cell lymphoproliferative disorders, as reported by Medical News Today.
The "Closer" artist concluded her message to fans on a positive note: "After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors. After 2 years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to. I can’t wait to get back where I belong: With you all. Singing and screaming my heart out."
Halsey delivered this update one day after telling fans that she felt "lucky to be alive" after her intense battle. Even though she chose not to reveal her diagnosis then, she made a point of acknowledging both the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through tags in her post. Furthermore, Halsey uploaded a series of videos showing her receiving transfusions during her stay in the hospital.
Clad in a surgical mask, she shared a self-shot video announcing the commencement of her treatment, labeling it as "day one." Additionally, Halsey (who also suffers from endometriosis) posted a video wherein she was captured wincing in pain as she massaged her legs. "I feel like an old lady," she said in the clip.
Halsey's latest ballad unveils a poignant depiction of the harrowing past few years, besieged by numerous appointments with physicians and perpetual agony. In the song, she notably sings: "Every couple of years now, a doctor says I’m sick / Pulls out a brand new bag of tricks / And then they lay it on me / And at first, it was my brain, then a skeleton in pain."
