Jenna Ortega has become an icon after taking on her famous Wednesday role, but after a recent press interview, many fans are left convinced she isn’t enjoying it anymore.
The actress was trending last week after a viral clip of her onstage at the global fan event, Netflix Tudum, with her other Wednesday castmates, went viral, as people analyzed her “uncomfortable” body language as the creator of the series talked about her performance. After the video went viral on social media, some fans backed her up and felt sympathy, as others slammed her for acting like a “brat” during the discussion. Read more about the situation below.
Jenna Ortega Goes Viral After Displaying Uncomfortable Body Language During A 'Wednesday' Q&A
One of today's biggest Netflix original series is undoubtedly Wednesday, the popular spin-off show based on the legendary spooky Addams Family, following the life and adventures of Wednesday Addams, as well as her family. This year, the show's second season came out and generated a lot of buzz, and even though the episodes were released in August and September, the cast and crew are still promoting it and giving press interviews.
On Sunday, November 9th, the 23-year-old performer and show's star sat down for a Q&A panel alongside her other castmates, including Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán, who play her parents, and one of the show's creators and head writers, Alfred Gough. The group was there for an FYC event for Netflix Tudum. At one point, during their panel discussion, the Wednesday creator began to talk about Jenna's performance in the show, which has already received a lot of praise from critics.
When he specifically spoke about a scene in the show that required Wednesday and the character Enid, played by Emma Meyers, to switch bodies, as he talked about how great both Jenna and Emma were, the Fallout actress began to look disinterested. Her body language was dubbed as 'uncomfortable,' with her head resting in one of her hands and a rather blank stare. You can see footage from the panel here!

The Internet Reacts To Jenna's Behavior On Social Media
After footage from the Q&A discussion went viral, especially cropped clips displaying the 'scream queen's' seemingly uninterested and introverted body language, the internet began weighing in with mixed opinions on her behavior through platforms like X and Reddit.
Many are assuming that the actress might have a hard time accepting praise, as after the show's creator complimented her on her hard work, she turned the conversation's attention towards the show's crew, giving them a shoutout for making everything possible. To others, her actions made her seem as though she was ungrateful for the series or as if she was "over it" and ready to move on.
According to The Daily Mail, some users went as far as to write that Jenna was behaving like a "disrespectful brat" during the panel, and a YouTube user commented that she "is so done with Wednesday press."
"It honestly makes me so sad to see her like this," wrote a fan on X. "She's clearly fed up and disappointed."
Fans of the series and those who have kept up with Jenna's career are speculating that she is on bad terms with Gough and other Wednesday creators.
Following its first season in 2022, she was outspoken about how miserable the filming process was, noting in interviews that she didn't get "any sleep" during the process.
"Body turning away, not giving attention, not clapping," wrote an X user, analyzing her behavior at the Q&A. "The whole body language literally says she doesn't like him."
