Although Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have done their best to put the breakup rumors to rest, there is still a lot of speculation about their current relationship status. And, according to TMZ, their children have played a large part in their attempt to work things out.

Apparently, when the news of their split broke on Friday, March 12, the couple had not yet broached the subject with their children.
"We're told J Lo's 13-year-old twins, Emme and Max, and A-Rod's teenage daughters, 16-year-old Natasha and 12-year-old Ella, were all devastated by the discussions the modern family had on Friday of a possible break up," TMZ explains.
According to a source, "There were many tears."
The same day that the news of their rumored split broke, Lopez took to her stories to share a photo of her daughter, Emme, crying. In the photo, Lopez is on FaceTime with her daughter and Marc Anthony as they both comfort her.
"When they are sad but momma and daddy are there #coconuts," she wrote. "I love you!! So proud of you." Though Lopez did not explain why her daughter was so distraught in the photos, many figured the breakup news played a role in her emotional state.
However, a day later, the couple released a statement denying the rumors about their breakup. "We are working through some things," they said. How big of a role their children are playing in this decision is still up for debate.
In January 2021, during an interview with the Raising the Bar podcast, A-Rod did hint at the fact that their kids played an important role in their relationship. "My father left me when I was 10 years old and I still have a hole in my heart because he left at that age. It was around the age of 11 that I made a promise to myself that I was going to be a great father whenever that moment came," he said. "That is by far the most important thing in my life, my two beautiful girls, and now our four kids."
