Ben Affleck Is A No-Show At The Met Gala While JLo Stuns In A Sparkling Sheer Gown
According to an insider source, Ben did have a reason for not joining his wife on the red carpet. "Ben not being at the Met Gala with Jen, even though he's got a a great excuse, he’s working, is causing more questions than either of them want," the source told In Touch. "Even the red carpet fashion commentators were confused, thinking Ben would be right behind Jen, but nope, she went solo, which shocked a lot of people."
While Affleck was nowhere to be found, Jennifer Lopez was hard to miss. Wearing a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown designed to look like butterfly wings, the entire outfit was sparkling. The base of the dress was a nude mesh that was covered in over 2.5M silver foil bugles and beads. According to the designer, it took over 800 hours of hand embroidery to make.
Rocky Relationship Rumors Swirl Around Ben & JLo
Now you can't expect husbands and wives to agree on everything, but there are some things that individuals really need to agree on to make a relationship work. And based on reports from sources close to Lopez and Affleck, there's a lot more disagreements than agreements. For instance, Ben is a rather private person, and would rather keep his relationship out of the media, but JLo feels the opposite. In Lopez's recent documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, Ben spoke candidly about this topic.
"Getting back together, I said, 'One of the things I don't want is a relationship on social media.' Then I realized it's not a fair thing to ask," but ultimately admitted, "we're just two people with different approaches trying to learn to compromise."
This is apparently one of the things that causes a lot of tension. "Jen’s need to make their relationship so public and perfect often leaves Ben feeling overwhelmed and henpecked," a source told In Touch.
Another instance is having separate interests. A that same source also noted that "Ben thinks having independent lives and separate interests is healthy for the relationship. J. Lo doesn’t totally agree, but she gets it." Seems like these might be pretty important things to agree on...
