Julianne Hough is in the middle of a divorce with her soon-to-be ex-husband Brooks Laich.
Rather than talk about that fresh breakup, however, the actress recently opened up about another time she went through heartbreak. Back in 2013, Hough split from Ryan Seacrest after two years together, and she is just now revealing how the end of that relationship affected her.

According to E! News, Hough took to Instagram Live to open up about the breakup. And although she didn't mention Seacrest by name, it was pretty easy to figure out which "high profile" man she was discussing.
The 32-year-old explained, "It was 2013 and I had just gotten out of a relationship that was very high profile."
"I was on private planes and yachts and living in a very, very well-off house and my life was pretty different from where I grew up," she added.
The relationship left her wanting to prove herself; she wanted to earn that kind of luxury in her own life without depending on her boyfriend to provide it.
She explained, "I kind of felt like I didn’t deserve it."
After her split from Seacrest, Hough embraced a newfound sense of "freedom," but admitted she went to the "extreme."
She explained during the Live that it was initially hard to find friends after their breakup since Seacrest was 15 years older than her.
Once she did finally find a group, she admitted that she lost herself a little bit. Hough explained that she "met some girlfriends" and eventually "did some certain things that I am not proud of, but I was also like, ‘Get it girl!'"
She added, "During that year, it was kind of my wild year of abandon and freedom and I realized that the pendulum swing went from one side to the extreme. I was like, 'OK, there's got to be something in the middle where I can find fulfillment without having to be so dynamic and extreme.'"
Although she avoided drawing explicit parallels between this breakup and what she is currently going through, her past experience does leave us wondering if another year of "abandon and freedom" is in store for Hough now that her and Laich have called it quits.
