The dinner, which was postponed after a shooting incident, abruptly ended its original date in April, featured glamorous looks and a number of meticulously planned political jokes, including one aimed at Karoline herself. Though the WHC dinner takes place annually, if you’ve been following the news closely since the spring, you know this year looked much different than usual.
Originally scheduled for April, the famous dinner was interrupted after a gunman unexpectedly entered the Washington Hilton, leading to the evacuation of President Trump and other members of his administration. The dinner was rescheduled for July 24th at the smaller Waldorf Astoria with increased security and went on without a hitch over the weekend.
The current White House Press Secretary was also in attendance for the new dinner, rocking a much different look from last time, considering she was days away from having her daughter, who was born on May 1st. This year, she wore a sleeveless, tailored powder-blue jumpsuit.
The jumpsuit had a slightly retro feel to it with a high neckline and slightly sheer top, wide-leg bottoms, and a coordinating belt that cinched her waist. She completed the look with some white heels and had her signature blonde hair styled in an updo.

Fans React To Karoline's Look After The President Calls Her 'Nasty' During His Speech
One of the most highly anticipated moments of the dinner was the Apprentice star's speech, which many knew would include jokes and jabs at members of his administration, the press, some of his opponents, etc. While he did have several lines dedicated to his colleagues, his comments on the new mom-of-two stood out.
After praising his press secretary for handling "one of the toughest jobs in the White House," Trump added that she "can be nasty," prompting laughter from the audience.
Though Karoline seemed unfazed by his comment, if she needed some reassurance, she got it from some of her loyal social media followers and others, who praised her ensemble for the evening.
"The most beautiful Karoline Leavitt," wrote an X user who shared a behind-the-scenes picture of her from the evening. "She is the best press secretary. Listening to her is so refreshing."
